About PatchVault

PatchVault is a free, browser-based toolkit for iOS emulator enthusiasts. It lets you patch ROMs and convert save files directly on your iPhone or iPad — no PC, no cable, no uploads.

Why We Built This

Applying a ROM hack on iOS has always been a multi-step process: find the ROM, find the patch, boot up a PC, run a patcher app, transfer the file, and finally load it in Delta. We thought it should be one step.

PatchVault puts a full patching engine — IPS, BPS, and UPS — directly in your browser. The same goes for save file conversion: moving a save between Delta, RetroArch, DeSmuME, or VisualBoyAdvance is now a single-click operation.

Privacy First

Your ROM files, patch files, and save files never leave your device. PatchVault has no backend servers. The entire application is a static website — there is physically nothing on our side that could receive your files. All patching and conversion logic runs inside your browser using the Web File API and WebAssembly-compatible JavaScript.

What PatchVault Supports

  • IPS patches — the original ROM patch format, used for decades of SNES, GBA, and NES hacks.
  • BPS patches — modern format with CRC32 checksum verification for both source and output.
  • UPS patches — XOR-based patching with checksum verification, popular for GBA ROM hacks.
  • Save file conversion — between Delta, RetroArch (.srm), VisualBoyAdvance, DeSmuME (.dsv), Folium, and PPSSPP.

Legal Use Only

PatchVault is intended for use with legally obtained game backups only. ROM patches distributed by the ROM hacking community (such as those on ROMHacking.net) are designed to be applied to a copy of the original game that you already own. Downloading ROMs for games you do not own is illegal in most jurisdictions. PatchVault does not host, distribute, or link to ROM files.
