1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PatchVault.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PatchVault is a browser-based tool that allows users to apply ROM patches (in IPS, BPS, and UPS formats) and convert emulator save files. All file processing occurs locally within the user's browser. PatchVault does not host, transmit, or store any ROM files, patch files, or save files.

3. Legal Use Only

You agree to use PatchVault only for lawful purposes. Specifically:

  • You may only patch ROM files that you legally own or have the right to modify.
  • You may not use PatchVault to assist in the distribution of copyrighted ROM files.
  • ROM patches ("hacks") distributed by the community are intended to be applied to a personal backup of a game you own.
  • Downloading ROM files for games you do not own is illegal in most jurisdictions. PatchVault is not a tool for piracy and must not be used as one.

4. Intellectual Property

PatchVault is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Nintendo, Sony, SEGA, or any other game publisher. All trademarks, game titles, and intellectual property referenced on this site belong to their respective owners. PatchVault does not host ROM files or copyrighted game content. References to emulators and games are for informational and compatibility-description purposes only.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. PatchVault does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the output files will be correct for any particular use. You use the Service at your own risk. Always keep a backup of your original ROM and save files before using any patching or conversion tool.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PatchVault and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
