About xDelta patches
xDelta uses the VCDIFF delta compression algorithm, making it ideal for large patches like Nintendo DS and PSP games where the diff between the base ROM and the patched ROM is too large for IPS or BPS. Browser-side xDelta support is planned for a future PatchVault update.
xDelta patching is not yet supported in the browser
xDelta patches require the VCDIFF algorithm, which is not yet implemented in PatchVault. Browser-side support is planned.
Apply the patch on desktop first, then transfer the ROM to iOS:
- Mac: Delta Patcher (free, open source) — available on GitHub
- Windows: Delta Patcher or xdelta UI (free)
- After patching on desktop, AirDrop or use Files to transfer the patched ROM to your iPhone
